About

In 2017, not long before his own death, Gilbert Baker updated the Rainbow Flag to create his own “inclusive” flag, by adopting the original rainbow flag with eight stripes and adding, to the top, a lavender coloured stripe to represent diversity.

This came at a time where the issue of racism and inclusivity of the Queer community towards people of colour came under scrutiny, and the launch of the “More Colour, More Pride” campaign, where the Rainbow Flag was amended to include two extra stripes at the top, coloured black and brown, to represent inclusion of people of colour within the community.
