About

The exact origins of the flag are unknown. It incorporates the rainbow flag, with the fist graphic being a traditional symbol of activism, resistance and solidarity.

An alternate version, incorporating the transgender flag, became increasingly popular during the “Black Lives Matter” campaign. The Trans Flag was specifically added to highlight the much higher rates of violence, sexual assault and death amongst Trans people of colour than the general population.
